For many, sunflowers represent optimism, faith, and sunshine. They provide joy and hope, which are qualities that might be needed more in these days.
The transformative impact of sunflowers is well-known at Montpelier Farms. During the August Sunflower Festival, guests can snap pictures in the four-acre sunflower fields and even make their own bouquets.
The farm opens its gates to the public on three Saturdays and three Sundays in August so that they can witness the breathtaking sight of endless yellow flowers. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, or 20, you can visit the farm and take part in the beautiful event.
For a perfect day among the flowers, follow these seven guidelines:
Get your tickets in advance to save money and ensure you see the blooms when it’s convenient for you. This famous festival offers a two-hour experience for each ticket.
There is a short walk to the fields of beautiful flowers, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. However, golf carts will ensure that you do not have to walk the entire day.
Put on your best photo-taking attire, and remember to bring your camera. Make sure you’re wearing something you’d be proud to post on social media because there are “prop stops” along the way where you may stop for photos.
While you’re there, ask an employee for a watering can to use on the cut flowers. After that, they will zip-top a plastic bag with water and your stems.
Take Fido with you on your day out instead of hiring a dog sitter. If they are nice and on a leash, dogs are welcome at the festival.
Bring food to eat. At the farmers market and on-site, you may find a wide variety of foods and drinks, including funnel cakes, slushies, cold-brew coffee, wine, cotton candy, barbeque, and fresh-squeezed lemonade.
Make arrangements for additional farm activities, such as pedal kart rides, gigantic hill slides, and barnyard basketball. Also, don’t miss seeing the farm’s animals.

Gorman Heritage Farm has all the character of a rural southern farm yet is only a short drive from Cincinnati’s downtown. Hayrides, sunflower mazes, petting zoos, live music, food trucks, and, of course, sunflower fields make this 122-acre farm a sunflower lover’s paradise every year!
Festival of Sunflowers at Copper Creek
Location: Georgia’s Calhoun
At the Copper Creek Sunflower Festival, you may enjoy a wide variety of interesting activities, such as candy cannons, pig races, gem mining, and pony rides. Copper Creek is a great farm for families because of all the things to do, but the sunflower fields are the main attraction. These sunflower fields, nestled at the base of the Appalachian Mountains, showcase approximately twelve varieties of sunflowers.
Festival of Sunflowers at Lee Farms
Loation: Tualatin, Oregon
Tualatin, a city northwest of Portland in Oregon, hosts the state’s biggest sunflower festival over two weekends in August. The sunflower festival may only be five years old, but it has already become famous, in contrast to Lee Farms, a seven-generation family farm that has been operating since 1869. Unique experiences, such as yoga classes and six-course dinners served in the fields, complement the event’s many kid-friendly attractions (sunflower maze, hayrides, live music, etc.).
Festival of Frankfort Sunflowers
Location: Frankfort, Ohio
At the Sunflower Festival, you can feel the “down home charm” of Frankfort. Amazing cuisine, a car display, a fire circus, and the kiddie tractor pull are just a few of the exciting events planned for this family-friendly day. Maple Lawn Farms’ Sunflower Festival
Specifically in New Park, Pennsylvania
An eight-acre farm in southeastern Pennsylvania has been hosting what it calls “the largest, most diverse pick-your-own sunflower patch east of the Mississippi River” since 2017, a summertime spectacle. The fields are home to approximately 200,000 sunflowers.
Which are intelligently organized into parts such as “Big Field of Yellow” for classic yellow sunflowers, “Land of the Giants” for specimens that reach a height of 12 feet, and “The Wilds” for beautiful sunflowers. As if taking in the “big fields of yellow” weren’t enough, there’s also a corn maze, a fun park, live music, and the opportunity to sample wines produced in the area (at the Maple Lawn Winery)!
